Accessibility statement

This statement applies to kalotect.com. It does not cover the client admin, which has its own statement inside it.

Using this website

This website is run by Kalotect Ltd. We want as many people as possible to be able to use it. That means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using your browser or operating system
  • zoom in to 400 per cent without text spilling off the screen
  • navigate the whole site using a keyboard, with a focus ring you can always see
  • navigate the whole site using speech recognition software
  • listen to the site using a screen reader, including the most recent versions of VoiceOver and NVDA
  • turn off every animation, by asking your device for reduced motion
  • read the site in a light theme or a dark one, with the choice remembered

We have also written the site to be understood without special effort: short sentences, plain words and no jargon where a plain word will do.

How accessible this website is

We believe this website is fully compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard. We know of no part of it that fails, in either theme.

What we know is not right yet

  • The journal has no audio or video yet. When it does, captions and transcripts will be published with it rather than after it.
  • Case study covers are currently a coloured panel showing the result rather than a photograph. When photographs replace them, each will carry alt text written by a person.
  • The site has not yet been tested with a large sample of assistive technology users. We have a user test planned before we claim more than we can show.

If you find something we have missed, we would like to know. It is more useful to us than a compliment.

Email hello@mail.kalotect.com and tell us the page and what happened. We will reply within two working days and tell you what we are going to do and when. If you need something on this site in another format — large print, plain text, a document read to you — ask, and we will send it within five working days.

If you contact us with a complaint and you are not happy with our response, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service, which is the body that handles complaints about accessibility in the United Kingdom.

Kalotect Ltd is committed to making this website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. We are not a public sector body and those regulations do not apply to us; we follow them because they describe the right standard.

Compliance status

This website is fully compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard.

How we tested this website

Every release is tested with a keyboard and with a screen reader on the pages it changes, and an automated accessibility check runs against every page in the end-to-end tests before anything is deployed. Contrast is checked in both themes, and no piece of information on the site depends on colour alone: every practice colour is accompanied by its name.
